Shooting color and black and white are completely different. A student asked me yesterday what my favorite black and white conversion was for digital and I responded that there were many ways but I had no favorite. In fact, I don't do conversions anymore because I am always let down when I see the results. And besides, I don't shoot color like I shoot black and white. One is about color, highlights and the other is about form, shapes and shadow. They are not, in my mind, interchangeable.
